ABOUT RHEA STEVENS

Rhea Stevens, J.D., LL.M., FCIArb
Principal Mediator and Arbitrator.
Licensed Attorney at Law
As an experienced attorney since 1992, I have practiced in a wide variety of legal topics, and geographic areas from New York to Alaska, and including multinational international oil and gas contract interpretation. Family law, contract law, real property, health law, tax, business dispute and landlord-tenant, and debt collection, in particular, are areas in which I spent a great deal of my time. I enjoyed finding solutions for clients especially when other attorneys said there was none. I have always participated in the ADR process, often informally, to achieve results, and made this my primary focus of my work.
I was recently approved for membership as a Fellow at Chattered Institute of Arbitrators, a world leader. I was elected to the American Law Institute in 2008 and am quite proud to be a member. I am currently a member of the Association of Attorney Mediators, the Texas Association of Mediators and am a Credentialed Mediator with the Texas Mediator Credentialing Association. I am also a member of Texas State Bar College and the American Health Law Association.
As a mediator I have handled cases in a variety of topics, including family law, and am now a Credentialed Distinguished Mediator. I commonly do family law, landlord-tenant, contract and other civil disputes.
I have completed training as an Early Neutral Evaluator through CEDR.
As an arbitrator, I have handled over 2000 cases and am an arbitrator for the Texas State Comptroller for both real property and business personal property disputes. Also I am a Distinguished Credentialed Mediators and Arbitrators for the TDI (or Texas Department of Insurance) to handle medical billing disputes. I can accept medical billing disputes directly, or though TDI. I am also accepted to Arbitrate for the State of Virginia and Washington State for Balanced Billing Medical Disputes and handle cases there.
As a mediator and arbitrator, I do not provide legal advice to the parties. I am here to provide the appropriate service (mediation or arbitration, or more recently ENE) in the format most functional for that dispute and those parties. At all times, my goal is to provide the parties a structure format in which they are confident their dispute is being professionally and impartially handled and to allow for optimal resolution.
